Air-Gapped Signing / Open Source

SeedSigner Kit

An air-gapped, camera-and-QR-code based Bitcoin signing device built around the open-source SeedSigner project. We source and assemble the hardware. The firmware — and verifying it — is yours to own.

Unassembled Parts Kit

€89

Every part needed to build a SeedSigner yourself: Raspberry Pi Zero (or Zero 2 W), Waveshare LCD HAT, camera module, GPIO header, tactile buttons, and a 3D-printed case. No soldering required. Pair it with our Assembly Jig if you want the parts held steady while you build.

Pre-Assembled & Tested (Unflashed)

€139

Everything in the parts kit, already assembled and bench-tested for power, display, camera, and button function. The microSD card ships blank. You still download, verify, and flash the firmware yourself before first use — we don't offer a pre-flashed option.

No pre-flashed option is offered, and won't be — see below.

Display
Waveshare LCD HAT (1.3"–1.44", stock dependent)

SeedSigner is an independent, donation-funded open-source project. Behind the Curtain has no affiliation with and no control over the SeedSigner firmware — we build hardware for it. Verify your download against the upstream signed release before you trust it with real funds.

Kit vs. Sourcing It Yourself

Every part in this kit is available separately from other suppliers — that's the nature of open hardware. What you're paying for here is time: a known-good combination of board revision, display, and camera that we've already tested together, instead of you finding out about a fitment or compatibility quirk after ordering.

What you're still responsible for, no matter where the parts came from:

  • Downloading the SeedSigner firmware from the official GitHub releases
  • Verifying its GPG signature before flashing it
  • Flashing the microSD card yourself
  • Testing the device with a throwaway wallet before trusting it with real funds
